You should notice that Users Api is extending Json Mappings: This should look familiar to you, even if you were not using slick. When you will look in docs you will see that each slick statement like this one for example: We’ve got here initialization of Table Query objects, which are representation of tables in db, and some implicit methods. So those methods apply to this Sql Action and Fixed Sql Streaming Action objects and this is how we avoid writing db.run(…) each time we want to call dao method. Check it out ;) Akka http is additional layer on top of akka which helps you communicate with actor system via Http requests.
With a little effort you can build webservice easily.
We believe that writing correct concurrent & distributed, resilient and elastic applications is too hard.
Most of the time it's because we are using the wrong tools and the wrong level of abstraction. Using the Actor Model we raise the abstraction level and provide a better platform to build correct concurrent and scalable applications.
Some problems are known, maybe only for the moment, but you should have a closer look before you plan to order here. Got my beans in two weeks, very pleased with the communication level, quality of beans and attention to me as a customer.
Btw I only ordered ten beans and they treated me like a prince. Or a lots of cool bonusses, good service and/or a fast delivery?
Shop from Russia with worldwide shipping, among others from Prague. Pakaloco is new to me but I will be using them more and more because of the speed, secracy, and variety they offer.
Akka http is very flexible and lightweight so it is not some kind of ‘fullstack’ framework but maybe you should consider using it in your future project.
Jonas Boner, CTO of Light Bend and creator Akka, discusses using Akka when developing distributed systems.
